SCRUB CLUB — TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective: August 24, 2026 · Operated by MKE Group Inc., Barry's Bay, Ontario, Canada · hello@mkegroup.ca

The plain-English version: Scrub Club is a bulletin board that connects people who need work done around their property with independent local workers. We're the venue, not the service company. Be decent, pay what you posted, do the work you claimed, and everybody wins.

1. What Scrub Club is (and isn't)

Scrub Club ("the Service") is an online marketplace operated by MKE Group Inc. ("we," "us"), a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (corporation number 1818558-1), which operates the Service under the name Scrub Club that lets people who need work done at a property ("Hosts") post jobs, and independent local workers ("Providers," also called cleaners in parts of the app) find and claim them. Jobs may include interior cleaning and turnovers, and outdoor and light property work such as lawn maintenance, brush and yard cleanup, leaf removal, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, junk and debris removal, seasonal opening and closing, and snow clearing. We are not a party to the arrangement between Host and Provider. Providers are independent contractors, not our employees, agents, or subcontractors. We do not supervise, direct, or control any work, and we do not guarantee its quality, safety, legality, or completion.

Work we do not cover. The Service is for light property work only. Jobs must not involve licensed trades or regulated activity, including electrical, plumbing, gas, structural or roofing work, tree felling or climbing work with chainsaws at height, asbestos or hazardous material handling, pest control requiring licensing, or any work requiring a permit or professional certification the Provider does not hold. Hosts must not post such jobs and Providers must not accept them.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials to yourself, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. One person per account. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Danger zone, which permanently removes your profile and anonymizes you on past jobs.

3. How jobs and payments work

Hosts post jobs at a price they choose, currently between $40 and $1,500 CAD per job, and may either allow the first Provider to claim the job or review requests and choose who gets it. Hosts may pay when a Provider is selected or fund the job up front. When in-app payments are active, the Host pays the posted rate plus a Scrub Club service fee (currently 10% of the posted rate, minimum $5 CAD, capped at $100 CAD, reduced to 7% when a Host rebooks a Provider they have previously completed a job with, and always shown before you pay). Payment is processed by Stripe and held until the Host confirms the job is done, at which point 100% of the posted rate is transferred to the Cleaner. Hosts may cancel and receive a full refund any time before confirming completion. Once a Host marks a job done, the payout to the Cleaner is final. If in-app payments are not active for a job, payment is arranged directly between Host and Cleaner and we have no involvement in it.

Providers receive payouts through Stripe and must complete Stripe's identity verification before they can claim work. Providers are responsible for their own taxes, permits, insurance, and legal compliance. Service fees are non-refundable except where a Host cancels before completion (full refund including fee) or where required by law.

4. Your conduct

Equipment, safety and insurance. Providers use their own tools and equipment at their own risk, are responsible for operating them safely and lawfully, and are responsible for carrying any insurance appropriate to the work they accept. Hosts are responsible for disclosing known hazards at the property (unstable ground, aggressive animals, damaged structures, and similar). Ladder, roof, and powered-equipment work carries real risk of injury; both sides should decline any job they are not equipped to do safely.

You agree not to: post false, misleading, or illegal jobs; harass, threaten, or discriminate against other members; post objectionable, abusive, or infringing content in chat, reviews, or job posts; circumvent the Service to avoid fees after being matched through it; scrape or misuse other members' contact information; or use the Service for anything unlawful. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion, with or without notice. Reports of objectionable content are reviewed within 24 hours (flag it in-app or email hello@mkegroup.ca).

5. Safety and interactions between members

You interact with other members at your own risk. We do not run background checks on Hosts or Cleaners. Use good judgment: read ratings, communicate in-app, and don't share more personal information than a job requires. When a job is matched, each side's name and contact information is shared with the other so the job can happen — that's core to how the Service works.

6. Content and reviews

You keep ownership of content you post but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it within the Service (for example, showing your review on the landing page). Reviews must reflect a genuine experience. We may remove content that violates these terms.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MKE Group Inc. is not liable for the acts or omissions of Hosts or Cleaners, for property damage, personal injury, loss of income, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the Service or from any cleaning arrangement. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 CAD or the service fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under Ontario consumer protection legislation.

8. Disputes between members

Payment and quality disputes are first between Host and Cleaner. If you can't resolve it, email hello@mkegroup.ca within 7 days of the job date and we'll review the job record (chat, checklist, photos, payment state) and may, at our discretion, refund, release, or split held funds. Our decision on held funds is final.

9. Changes, termination, governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use means acceptance. We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
